Academics
The Academic program of Ke Kula ʻO Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu is one that is both rigorous and challenging. Our curriculum is created and developed
upon the philosophy of our school, Ke Kumu Honua Mauli Ola Hawaiʻi, and the Hawaiʻi Content and Performance Standards (HCPS III) of the State
of Hawaiʻi Department of Education.
Required courses at Nāwahī include Hawaiian Language Arts, English Language Arts (Grade 5 – 12), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education. Electives include Fine Arts, Health, Guidance, and Technology Education. In certain instances, content area courses are integrated with one another and taught through an interdisciplinary approach (i.e. Health and Physical Education or Science and Technology Education).
